exhibitions curatorial / group sound texts about contact

This website is more than twenty-five years old, with lots of different code and technologies barely holding it together. Top buttons are for navigation, side buttons refer to specific exhibitions which reveal a picture/page link. The first exhibition that it archives is (MP3 Abode) which harnessed the power of the relatively new MP3 format. People were asked to send emotions and memories as MP3's which were placed inside a 120 year old piano in a candle lit room. There was an open invitation to come and compose your own sound works from the emotions of the world. That was in 1999.
Since then I have used many methods and disciplines to consider the substance of belief, exploring spiritual, scientific and psychological terrain. The most recent exhibition 'Split the Curlew and you'll find the music' (2024) asked individuals from diverse communities living in a rural Irish town, where do you go? People answered as sound, video, email or anonymously. I used avatars for the anonymous answers which led me to consider these individuals as migrants from physical to digital worlds. Truth started to become blurred, so I blurred it further. As we do. There have been many exhibitions, utopian quests, experiments, music compositions and human contacts between those two questions, much of it contained within this evolving lump of a website. Be patient with it........
